Open Eyes, Open Mind

Within this last month, I have taken some time to reflect or shall I say appreciate my life, myself and my beautiful Island. I know for people who don't live here say " Oh Boo Hoo, stop complaining". To set the record straight, I am not compaining I am actually encouraging people to take this time, if you are currently employed or not, to "smell the roses". Here we have plumeria. If you are in a cold place or laying on the beach in Hawaii, be grateful and appreciate what you have been given and get out of that mindset of worring abou what you don't have.

How do you talk to a billionaire and do you feel richer?

So I watched Oprah today to gets some tips on how to reduce your spending and be "uber" cheap, which I am already; except for food.
For some odd reason I feel like Carrie Bradshaw(SNTC), clearly I am not. So back to Oprah, as I am watching the cheapest family in America share their tips to Oprah I realize, why is a close to poor family explaining how to "live within your means" to a billionaire! Are you kidding mean, I swore as the guest was explaining "cooking for 6 people for under $4" she was choked up. I would have walked off the stage. I respect Oprah for her hard work and accomplishment she is a definative role-model, but damn, times are tough and she can be whatever she wants right now and people are losing their shirts, socks and shoes. Yeah I know the way Oprah was brought up and everything but is she scaling down on expenses? Instead of giving Ford Focuses to her studio audience they are getting Vespas? In this economic crisis is Oprah scaling down on her expences, maybe not and why should she, but at least have your HBIC Gale give the interview cause she's probably closer to pauper. Good Night All and I wish you the sweetest of dreams in your cardboard boxes.

Rainy Day On Kauai

Today starts the 2nd week of my being unemployed, though I have a second job, that too at the present time is non-existant. It seems that the first week was flooding resumes, making calls and going to the beach. The beginning of the second week was filled with purging my house, gettting rid of useless clutter, organizing and cleaning. Now as I get to watch the tube, the economy problems have now been written into sit-coms ex. The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. As if I am not living it why should an "escape from the real world" medium be used to remind me between the hours of 7-9pm? I have been out there looking for jobs all day and I get my fill of CNN, MSNBC and Fox News all the way to 10am, and when I am on the net the next hour. I am not sure if the sit-coms are used to show they relate to us or that hey lets all laugh about this so we can get through because the sit-com writers are dealing with the financial down-shift just like everyone else. Well hell, it worked, I watched, I laughed and I will watch again tonight.
Thank You writers everywhere, you are keeping me entertained and the homeless warm.
